I recommend NGK platinum or Iridium. In my old car since the plugs took 5 minutes to change I just used NGK copper. These engines are a different story. ..

It is not the fact that Bosch sucks; It is they are not designed for our engines. Bosch is for German automobiles. Even though some sensors used by japanese automakers are in fact Bosch. Just stick with NGK. I made the mistake of putting in Bosch spark plugs in my last car and the car ran poorly and made my spark plug seals leak.

Sounds like something else was going on there. It is a threaded piece of metal made to fit. Do you put them in yourself? Bosch isn't just made for german autos, that sounds fairly silly.

Like the split fires of old, having more than one contact point for the spark doesn't help you out. The spark is only going to make the jump to one elctrode or the other not both together.

I have 55k on my Maxima and have never changed the plugs and it seems to be running the same as it did when I bought it, how often do I need to change them?

It's been a known fact that Bosch plugs run poorly in most to all Nissan engines. Add Autolite to that list as well. It's NGK or nothing.

Little tidbit of info: In European countries, Champion plugs are OEM for Nissan's.

I have the bosch +4 platinums in my 01 maxima right now and they run just fine. I noticed a big boost over my fried NGKs but havent really tried brand new NGKs ever.
