angel eyes / demon eyes

I have a friend who makes custom angel eyes / demon eyes or in whatever colour I want it to be...

I did a search and found all the previous posts with angel eyes and demon eyes, the pictures posted of examples of how they look on a 5th gen maxima itself no longer work....

can anyone posts some pictures with some ideas for what colour looks best?

and what is the size (circumfrance or length) I should give him as a measurement for a perfect fit? thanks

Does he make them by bending CCFL or using L.E.Ds?

Please ask your friend if those are CCFLs or LEDs.

If I had to guess, those look like LEDs.

those are leds. the rings are bent from curtain rods found at homedepot through baking them in the oven and wrapping it around a bottle or something circular similar to the shape of the dome. theres been a writeup for years on a crx which is basically the same for almost any car. google it.

he does not drive with those, they are just for car shows. it's illegal in every state to have red or blue in headlights while driving. these colors are reserved for emergency/fire/ems vehicles only.
we already had a discussion thread about this when he made them, and clarified all state's laws involved.

LEDs are okay, but it depends what you use them for. If you take a look at the pic you posted, the LEDs don't light up the ring evenly. Notice the ends are brighter and get dimmer towards the middle. CCFLs (Cold-Cathode Fluorescent Lamps) rings are evenly lighted.

The downside to CCFLs is that it's fragile and have to be handled carefully. And if it breaks, you have to replace the entire ring. If the LED burns out, you just replace the LED.

Tell your friend to use brighter LEDs, 21000 mcds

Yes, I recall that rather lengthy thread where soon as he posted those pics, an e-riot broke out where a bunch of NY cats had plenty to say.

Your comment is just too silly not to respond to again with a

If he has RED angel eyes, RED means STOP, so how exactly is a SEMI going to run into him?

1) that Semi would be driving on the wrong side of the road - problem one that's pretty hard to miss and pretty much has no relevance if you have red, pink, purple, rainbow, or anything on your car, there are other problems you are going to have aside from your color of angel eyes.

2) as mentioned above RED MEANS STOP. Therefore, if he sees the red, he SHOULD stop no? I mean if they were green, sure, let's run through them. But unless I checked, the rule book for Semi's is the same as for regular people, see RED STOP. see GREEN GO.

3) When they reroute lanes - it's not usually in the dark, but if it is, you usually have a flagman.

4) If it's a 2 lane road, then the red will likely serve as a deterrent.

Anyways, no, you were not misquoted

i think dr. roy (originator of the 5th gen ebay retro and leds) has tried to do this but to get the circle to be smooth was time consuming or something according to him. I heard that another thing to do was t get the ccfl rings from the fans you use to case mod and install those instead (since these were for more of the projector retrofitters and that the 100mm and 80mm were large enough).
