does anyone out there know how to replace the gear shifter and so, what are the specs of the new shifter have to be? ex. 7/16"

oops...my bad!!
you can just turn them counter-clock wise with a rag and a plyer....or you can just saw the shifter off....
i'm not really sure about the size of a new shifter...my momo's seem to be fitting just perfectly...normally, an aftermarket shifter comes with 2 different size rubber tubings to make it snug...

10 x 1.25 - it's metric.
