And a finally got around to my LED swap:

Add the free ground kit I just installed, a brand new MAF, all 6 updated coils, and some Iridium plugs and I would say the max has a little spring in her step this week. O and for the millionth time....DaveB is the MAN!!!

Wow - It looks really good now. But I gotta ask - how in the heck did those dash and door pieces get so much wear to begin with? Do you have a dog or something?

Yes i can attest to that, Mine had the same scratches but mine were everywhere Radio,ac vents, climate control, shifter trim and all four door panels. I have concluded that my car was victim of a in-car exorcisim LOL J/P But yea looks nice i remeber how i felt wen i bought all my new interior pieces.

Mine too but I replaced the radio and the trim w/ the GXE kit a while back. Every panel was screwed. Even my sunglasses holder was broken. But not anymore. Now on to the leather seats....hopefully.

$300 was for all 4 doors and all dash pieces? I would like to replace all my GLE wood pieces to this kind.
Thanks.

My god, those before pics looked horrible. That was one neglected car.

Good job on the after pics though. Gotta love the 6spd shifter console. I did that swap too.

i dunno if the 5.5gens have it but the ash tray, shifter, climate control, head unit, has like this soft gel like surface that you can scratch off really easy and chew up if you arent careful

Good man...I have been in hibernation here. Anyways I'm considering the LED job seing as your the second person asking me about this. I like to keep close tabs on my work though and make sure if I am doing something that the person can come back to me with any problems if they arise. Not that it is something that will happen, I just like to give the owner that feeling of knowing I won't screw 'em. Lemme get back to ya on that tho...

I don't think that you can even buy the door trim with blue LED's. The switches are a seperate part from the trim anyways and I only ordered the trim. So, yes I did the entire conversion myself.

Haha, your reliving what i did 2 years ago.
Instead of replacing all those things, i bought a dash kit that covered it all, and on the rest I bought primer, chrome and clear coats to cover the rest and it came out syck. Also, I got leather seats too, just buy the skins like I did and install them yourself.

Got everything but the LED's from DAVEB. The 5.5 gen console comes with the leather boot for around 100 bucks. The LED mod took me a couple hours but I am also pretty **** with this kinda stuff. I modded the housing so that there is an LED between each of the switches and a couple for the level adjustment **** and one for each indicator as compared to the factory 3 or 4 LED's. I'd rate the difficulty a 3 out of 5 though for those who are somewhat electrically inclined. Don't try it otherwise.

Love that Nismo shifter! Great work over all!
Yeah how in the world did somebody could scratch those panels so bad?!! Seems like the previous owner keyed the panels just for the h%$# of it, had to be some psycho or something to make panels that screwd!

That looks great. The LED swap is def something I'd be interested in b/c I've always hated the green window switches. But if it takes being electrically inclined to make it look like you did, I might just have to live with em.

How tricky is it to install the that plastic panel around the shifter (the one with the ashtray and hazard button)?

Where do you get these LED's?

I have rewired a motorcycle so this should be easy.

So it seems the significant questions everyone has but you haven't answered are:
1. Where did you find the LED's?
2. How much were they?
3. Where is the writeup?

At least answer the first two!!!

Really like the LED's. Took mine apart over ther holiday break and saw the lights were connected to a cirquit board. Did you buy a new board or somehow figure out how to pop out the LED's? Interested in doing this my-self.
Nice upgrades and I am sure you Maxima appreciates it.
