I find it a little odd that the max HP is at like 6400 when the redline is 6600! Is there anyway to override the redline with an ignition for example? I was just thinking that when I hit 3rd gear it seems to fall a little to low in the rpm's.

I believe that you can get your ECU reprogramed to do this, but does anyone do this right now? It may still be in the R&D stage.

With the MSD ignitions (on V8 cars) you could change you redline by changing a chip in the ignition.

I just think this motor is capable of much more.

The MSD ignitions for our car can come with an adjustable rev limit, however it was intended for use as a stutterbox. In otherwords it is a second rev limit... it can't override the one in our ECU. I wish I knew if our rev limit was software encoded or hardware. On my previous Eclipse, the top speed limiter was just a resistor on the ECU, which could be removed, thereby removing your top speed limiter. I'm assuming a different sized resistor would adjust the speed accordingly, but no one ever tried this (why would they... no limit is better). However on our rev limitter, I'm not sure if this is how it's setup. I suspect it's encoded in the software though (meaning no adjustability).
