front arm rest on 2k2 problem

ok - you know that button at the top-front part of the arm rest that when you push it, the arm rest "pops up" is there any way to stop that from happening? Every once in a while when I shift, I pop that thing up and it drives me nuts!

Get a center console that doesn't have the pop up.

My 2000 GXE doesn't have one...I'm glad because I don't like the pop up

edit: It's probably a low-demand junkyard part. I suspect you can get one cheap. Only obstacle is finding the right color, even installation is no more than 10 minutes.

Take the lid off the console. Undo the four screws and take off the base. You'll see that it clips in. You can either remove it all together or glue it with the gorilla. Then reassemble.
