Got these 2 codes poped up (please help)

02 maxima se the SES light poped up along with these 2 codes...

P0139 bank 1 sensor 2 (02) sensor slow response.

p1147 manufacturer controlled and air metering...?

i can understand the p0139 code but dont have any idea about the p1147 does anyone know what do i need to replace in order to get rid of the p1147 code? also i have no idea where the bank 1 sensor 2 is located so please see the following diagram and tell me if # 2 is the sensor 2 of the bank 1? thanks in advance.

You need to replace the MAF I believe for 1147. Not sure which but it's either 2 or 3 for the sensor.

P1147 is the same thing Bank 1 Sensor 2. It's the one with the blue connector up top and white wire going down to the sensor which faces forward under the car.

SLAKR95 is right, oops... I'm thinking that the MAF can cause this too.

How is the car running? If it's sluggish, problems can be related to MAF.

do you know where the sensor exactly located? i figured its the blue connector with white wire but when i went ahead to order one they asked me the exact location of the sensor...is it at center cat inlet (below engine) or Upper left or right manifold outlet radiator or firewall side? or right side after catalyst? i am just confused with these locations so please put me on right direction. thanks!

OEM Part # is 226A0-5Y701 (Can they cross-reference?) The sensor itself is for the rear bank (firewall side) and it is on the y-pipe under the car. If you look under your car close to the oil pan, you'll see it.

Write up for replacing B1S2 http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=409950 (Credit: Epacy)

Hey, I had the same codes come up, I just reset the ECU and they went away. Car feels fine. It's been 2 weeks so far with the codes coming again. So try to reset the ecu first.

Just because its an o2 sensor code, does not mean the o2 sensor is bad. Many things can cause and o2 sensor code such as the notorious maf sensor. I'd try cleaning you maf sensor and resetting the ecu. Won't cost much time or money. And its a lot cheaper and easier than and o2 sensor or maf sensor.

Good luck with it.

what type of cleaner do i need to clean the MAF?because i just killed my MAF on my 2001 maxima by cleaning it with Q/D electronic cleaner. i ended up paying $110 for new MAF. I dont think that i should repeat the same mistake over. unless i find out the right MAF cleaner for 02 maxima MAF's.

and i tried to reset the ECU but i didnt succeed I tried like 3 times but the SES light didnt blink or disapear. unless i followed the wrong instruction. what if i just go ahead and erase the code with OBD code reader would this procedure help? thanks.

Yes using a obd2 scanner is the best way. Its the legit way to do it. And you can get crc maf sensor cleaning which works well. Only use that cleaner which can be found at many different auto stores.

Clean maf. Then reset. Gl
