Need help
Some SOB at work managed to rip the passenger side mirror off my car last night despite the fact that I was parked way to the left side of my spot, so much so that my drivers side wheels were on the wrong side of the line. Anyways, I think the mirror and housing itself is ok, but i might need the triangular piece which is attatched to the corner of the window. anyone know how that part comes off the car? or if it is available separately? I'll post pics later when it is light outside
You don't have to absolutely remove the door panel but it makes it a lot easier to get to the plug that needs to be removed to get your mirror off.
To remove door panel. These things need to removed to get your door panel off.
Take the cap off, remove the screw and take out the handle.

Remove the whole plastic trim from the center, be careful not to crack it. Remove the window buttons by taking off the three screws that hold it in place.

Remove door handle surround by applying pressure from the back and pulling on the front. Hope you understand what I'm trying to say.

Feel on the bottom of the door panel and find the whole. Stick your little digits in there and pull firmly towards you. DON'T TRY AND PULL OFF AT THIS POINT!
Unclip the Trunk Release / Gas Door Release.
Unclip the door panel light. Pull the door panel off.
Remove this piece right here, it'll expose the three screws that you need to remove. After removing it you'll see that the cord for your power mirrors is connected. Disconnect it. This will allow you to pull your mirror all the way out.

To remove the mirror from the triangle piece there are three screws under the mirror. It will separate but be careful when you do so there is the line for your power mirrors.

thanks! I'll try to do that tonight when I am more awake!! Still not sure if I need mirror and the bracket, or just the bracket. What do you guys think from this photo? The cast metal piece which is busted was yanked right through the bracket, so it is toast, so is the cast metal piece. But does the cast piece come with the mirror or the bracket?

From the looks of it all you need is the mirror. The actual mount is fine. However, I don't think they sell it separately.
Shop around or call Dave B ( Burnett ) There are two Dave B's there so... Just see what he says. Here is his number.

By the way, as far as the scratches you can get it wet sanded or you can do it yourself if you feel comfortable. It will take out the minor blemishes. I'm not saying it will get rid of it completely but make it less noticable.

the triangular mount is definately damaged. You can see the plastic chunks stuck between the cast metal and the mirror . The screws you see in the mirror got pulled through the mount.
Oh **** I just noticed it. Yeah man. you'll have to get the whole assembly anyway. Give Dave a call he cuts all the Org members awesome deals.
The only problem you'll have after that is new black paint on your mirror and old paint on the car.

That I don't know. Just try and call em up. If not then he'll be there Monday.
You could do a temp fix until then with some well placed 3M tape. Just clean out the dirt and
Good luck man.
