Eventually I want to replace most of my lights with LEDs, including the ones you mentioned. As for sizes, Sylvania's website has a good reference guide.

Doors are 194 but can use 921s for more light, map lights are BA7s but you'll need to reverse the wires to make them work.

Well, if you are looking for real LED dome lights, a friend of mine might start making the boards to replace the bulb setup. He is trying to do them for the Sentra / Spec-V crowd, as he has one. I know Metal Maxima did them at one time for our cars, but as far as I know he stopped. I'll be creating a thread once he finishes my map lights.

does anybody know will the 194 i found will fit our front door? coz that looks like a perfect square...

ZERO, when will your friend have time to do that? how much they want for all 194, BA7s and DE3175, to make it perfect fit for our cars?

Hey lalaMAX,

I want to put those 194 in my doors but will they actually fit? Wouldn't those leds blow your fuse or cause problems?

i dont see how they would blow a fuse, seeing as how LED's use "LESS" wattage, than the standard dome and 912 lights. I have LED's in my doors, and in my side markers....THEY ARE BRIGHTER plus use less enegery

These pictures don't do it justice. it lights up the car like you wouldn't believe.

http://www.permlight.com/products/twister.asp

not cheap but buy in bulk and they are... i got for free from a leftover job we did for a channel letter project.... they last 100 hours... very simple to install

edit: 100k hours... says on the websit for the first 30k it looses less than 10% luminoscity

Hey, no one here knows me, but I'm the guy Zero2sixtyZ was talking about doing his LED lights.

I pretty much make them custom, just like MetalMaxima. LEDs do last a LOT longer and definatly won't blow a fuse. When you blow a fuse, you over draw what the circuit can handel, LEDs use less amperage than halogen bulbs.

As for the Autolumination.com LED bulbs... utter CRAP. Not bright, mine blew after a few months. And just generally sucked. The map/dome lights I have made for Z, they are bight. We just installed them last night and when Z turned them on, he had to look away they were so bight!

I love LEDs, they are bighter, whiter and last longer than halogens. So if you want LEDs, go custom, better than any premade bulb replacements.

Now, Z, PUT UP THE DAMNED PICTURES!

I was all excited to see what this doom light was, thinking maybe I could vanquish some enemies, but then I clicked and what a let down hahahaha at least its an interesting idea, but there has to be an easier way, im more interested in LEDs outside of the car, I like it when the lights on the inside fade off

I'm not making them to sell as of right now. I might though. We will see...

I use your standard 5mm LED from eBay. They have proved to be pretty good IMHO.

I do have to trim the down with a dremel to get them to fit in the map light assembly, but they are still bright.

I managed to use 12 5mm LEDs in Z's map light.
He currently has some electrical issues with his dome light so we are going to work on the before I make his dome light.

I'm gonna go find my camera and take some pictures right now. They are bright and clean looking. Like Dark-V said, I have a problem with my dome wiring or something, so that wont turn on even with a new bulb in there. So thats on hold, however the map lights look amazing.

I bought interior LEDs from these guys on ebay. http://stores.ebay.com/Velocity-LEDs

I bought the 5.99 3175 Dome light - Super White LED. I love the clear color of what a white light should be. Not the normal yellow looking stock color. It seems brighter than stock but not as a strong output as stock...if that makes sense. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SUPER...5698QQtcZphoto

I put these in my license plate lights. These I love because it looks a lot better from the rear aka stands out from everyones yellow. Same color output as interior. NOTICE: There shorter than the ones below so they'll fit in your license plates. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-HID...8659QQtcZphoto

And I put these in my doors. Same everything. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-HID...1304QQtcZphoto

I think for map lights I will find some good halogen bulbs

i put up some pics, i've done the research and tried other LED's they don't come even close to the brightness of these permlights. Two LED's come on (1) 1"x .5" square. get a roll of 20, may cost ya 100 bucks but you can do your whole car and have some left over, self adhesive, + - leads, 12v, strung together. I fit two in each door light... way more light!

These are the systems they use to light up signs with smaller letters. Burger King was the first to implement these when they changed all their signs a couple years back as they are very cost effective and long lasting... not to mention versatile!

I was the one who made these for Z, honestly, I don't have any how to's. All they are, are LEDs on a solderable perf board and some wire and glue. There are TONs of ways to set up LEDs.

How much $$$$?

LEDs off of eBay are decent quality and pretty damned cheap. The board is from radio shack for less than $5 and wire, glue and solder... cheap cheap cheap...

They are sometimes a PITA to make, unless your meticulous about it, which I am.

Honestly, the MCD rating is kind of odd to me. Usually I get from 10k to 20k just to keep the color the same.

I have in fact, purchased 10mm 130,000mcd LEDs and they were just the same output as my 20,000mcd 5mm LEDs.

I used 20,000mcd 5mm LEDs. Although you can use 3mm, they will work fine, I just used 5mm because I had them on hand and all I did was trimmed down the tops so they would fit.
