Changing miles on ODO?
Changing miles on ODO?
I was working on a project today with my gauges, and sadly I broke my tachometer on my cluster.
I am going to have to buy a new one, and hopefully i can just swap out the tach itself. However, If I can't, how do i go about getting the new cluster programed to the miles that i have on my car now? I assume a dealer can do this? any idea what they might charge? any way i can do this myself? thanks in advance

are you sure about that? when my buddy bought a used replacement cluster for his 2k2 max, but the custer did not reflect his actual millage, it just showed the millage that came on the cluster. his car was always off by 10k miles..
Nissan dealers order clusters or odometers from a company that can calibrate the speedos and set odometer mileage. They are supposed to keep the vehicle at the dealer so the mileage does not change and the odometer is overnited from the company (model electronics). They can also reset mileage on existing odomters I believe. Good luck.
I have a simulair question, dont mean to hijack the thread. How difficult is it to remove the guage faces off the cluster and install them on another. I bought an AE cluster and want to put the faces on my GXE.
silvermax2k2, was that what you were doing on your max? I realize that you have a 2002, but were you putting some custom guages in? How did you manage to break it? Thanks!
