I installed the bug deflector tonight finally...well, I read the instructions installed it carefully. The bends on the under hood section meet up with the bends of the hood exactly. Now my question is, is there supose to be a huge gap where the points of the hood come down for some reason? It's a good size opening, about 1 - 1 1/2 inch ~... Why is that open like that? Thanks....

Also how did you remove that label they have on the deflector?

Russ,

Yeah...it sounds like you got it on there correctly. I think that the main reasons for the gap right at the points on the hood are:
1. For water to have somewhere to drain out from underneath the carflector. That way water doesn't end up just sitting on the paint for extended periods of time.

2. To give you a place to shut the hood from. They don't want you putting downward pressure on the carflector so you are able to use that area to push the hood closed.

To get the label off: I think that I just used my finger nail or something not too abrasive to just scratch it off. It didn't take much pressure.

Did you use the screws or just the tape? My tape is starting to come loose on the sides so I think that I am going to actually have to use the screws.

later Bro.

Crikey, what a shine!

Flomax,

Since this thread is addressed to you, I have 2 questions/comments:

1. How did you get your car to shine like that? Is it just a really good picture or does your car really look like an oil slick?

2. Did you know your name (Flomax) is a drug here in Canada (maybe the states too)?

Yeah...Zanio is the ticket. It seems to work best on darker colored cars...so yours would look money after an application.

And yes...I do know that my name is a drug, though there is no relation. He is the deal (not that you care to know).
I had a "flowmaster" exhuast on my old 3rd gen max. It was really loud and all of my friends would say that my car had a "flow job" done to it resulting in the loud muffler.

Eventually everyone just started calling my car "Flow Max" and it stuck. I just kept the same name, "FloMax" when I got my new car.

Recently someone gave me a pen that has "FLOMAX" printed on the side. I was like, whooa cool...till I realized that it was just an advertisement for a drug to help people breathe better.

Anyway...I'm not going to change now.
peace out Bro.

Nissan screwed up and gave me paint protection (actually the whole freakin' protection package) when I never asked for it. They ended up giving it to me for 1/2 price. Can I still apply zaino with this (silicon?) clear coat in place? If I can't, what can I apply?

Flomax, I don't know if you want to know what the drug really does but it ain't for breathing.

You should be able to use Zanio over that clear coat with no problem. It is not silicone based, and does not use harsh chemicals, so I don't forsee any issues. You could also ask someone at Zanio what their thoughts on the matter are before you buy it.
Let me know if you decide to use some...I want to see the pictures.
