Problem with chrome rings on 2k1 SE

So today I was driving and it turns out that the Paradox Chrome Rings I got for my 2001 SE have slid down because my needle keeps getting stuck every time the car goes to like 3000 rpmms or over 60 mph.

I tried to fix them but no use because it seems that the sticky material isn't very sticky anymore. Anyone have any suggestions, or should I get new rings? Also can any1 point me in the direction of who has those rings now, and if there are any new rings available that will hold up better. Thanks.

Loctite? This glue bonds to almost anything.

The sticky material seems similar to the butyl sealant that Nissan uses for headlights. Send an email to Harry at Paradox to see if he has any suggestions? Post back with the response, others may be interested.

I used some clear silicone to keep them in place on my 98' back in the day. I had to remove them recently, and they came off like a charm.

Awesome Idea. I actually was thinking to do the same but was afraid that the silicone would dry and look messy. How much did you put? Just enough to fill the groove on the back of the rings? Did you remove the sticky material that was on the ring?

I also emailed paradox so we'll see what they say.

If you're using silicone definitely remove the butyl glue first. You want enough so that it makes contact but doesn't seep out from the sides.
