I hear the header install is a major PITA, especially the rear cylinder head. Good Luck! It will be worth the trouble... It will be worth the trouble... It will...

The header install is not something you can do without a lift. At my work All Data calls for around 10 hours to do new header install. Lol I placed mah order with cattmann but im dreading the install.

Nice quality headers. The welds are nice with good penetration. The weld around the o2 bung is a little sloppy. I like the collector and flange design. You should polish them to a mirror shine! That would look so good. Good luck.

Of course you can do it without a lift. Plenty of people have installed headers in their garages/driveways (myself included). You will just be lying on your back, instead of standing up.

New design... it makes my Gen 1's look like a shorty header since my y-pipe is so much shorter.

...ps, to ALL of you who think header installation is a bish... its quite easy actually... and Steven88 will testify to that.

yeah I wouldn't say its HARD...its more time consuming than anything...and my car probably got away ALOT easier than others...in other words, so cal weather treated my ypipe alot easier than east coast weather...all the nuts came off very easily on my car....but it might not be so easy with a maxima coming from the east from all that snow

Yeah, I've done mine and helped with another install. Both in my garage on jackstands with hand tools.

it does look like a bich... but i do heavy work on military trucks for a living... and considering all the tight spaces i don't know... lol i just had the hardest time installing the freaking o2 simulator... the wires wouldn't keep the solder i think the wires on the o2 sensors have some sort of coating on it i gess for heat protection... but i finally got it done... solderless tho... ehhh we'll see how things roll

He'll still have to run an o2 simulator to trick the computer into thinking the precats are still there. That's just part of the deal with any brand header on these cars.

I did mine over a year ago with a simulator and haven't had one CEL.

My header install was done with jack and stands with hand tools in less than 4 hours. Its not that hard.

It has nothing to do with the type/brand of headers, but more a 5th vs 6th Gen issue. Like Derrick said, most of us are using O2 sims and have no CEL issues.

Don't get new primaries unless you know yours are bad. You'll see once you do the header install that they're easy enough to replace.

As for AF tuning, get a dyno or some data logs after the header install to see if its necessary before spending money on a piggyback. That being said, most of us run rich with headers. More info in the header sticky.

I have a set of brand new Nissan exhaust manifold gaskets if you want to save a few bucks over going to the dealer. I could probably get them to you quicker than the dealer too. Just send me a PM if interrested.

You are absolutely right. O2 sensor wires cannot be soldered. Crimps will be needed for them to hold the connection.
