Installing replacement ECU
This might be a weird question: Do you have to take any precautions when installing a new ECU? My old one went bad and I just plugged in my replacement one I bought at a salvage yard, all it does is turn over. I'm thinking my battery has low voltage so I'm charging it. Any input is appreciated.

Thanks for your reply. I did have the battery disconnected when I unplugged the old one and put in the new one. I have since received a p1611 code (NATS malfunction). Do you know if I will just have to get my key's reprogrammed? Or possibly the entire ECU as well? Nissan told me $47-150 depending on how much they have to do.

you have to reprograme you chip keys, the second ecu key codes do not match your original keys. NATS = Nissan AniTheft System. The dealer would be able to help you with that.

Nsnrider is correct, your replacement ECU doesn't "recognize" your keys so the car will be immobilized and you'll need to get that reprogrammed at the dealership. There's more info in the FSM too if you need it.
