Recent Road Trip and Check Engine Light

Wife and I did a road trip from Jax, FL to Owensboro, KY for christmas.

I have an 01 GLE-Auto with about 136K miles. All maintenance upto date.

16 miles into the trip service engine soon lights up. No issues with idle etc. I figured it was not the MAF. Started refueling every 200Miles and noticed no problems with gas mileage. I have a K&N drop in filter. No other mods except for suspension.

Have to say, I had just completed the swap to H&R's and illuminas. With the shocks at '3' all around, car handled beautifully.

We get to KY and I got the local autozone to pull the codes. There were 3-
P0430 - Cat below efficiency
P01XX - i forget the exact number but it was an intake air temperature sensor malfunction code.
P0430

I got the guy to erase the codes.

I swapped out the K&N back to the stock filter. We got back to JAX last night and Good news no Service Light.

A Few Questions:
Generally if there is a constant code being thrown how log does it take to come back?
K&N claims the drop in would improve gas mileage. I found it the other way around. On the way up keeping speed between 72 and 77 and on cruise control I was getting about 27.1. On the way back with the stock filter and same speeds I got about 28.3. Infact when we left temp was cold in the lowers 50's compared to the mid upper 60's y'day.
Any thoughts?
Last but not the least, I have to say as to go over 80mph in the max it starts getting loud. loud in terms of wind noise. Man.. I dont understand how the same engineers who designed the car such that you dont hear the motor at 80 designed such a shoddy body dynamics that u have to constantly increase volume to compensate for wind noise. I confirmed all my weatherstripping is in good shape. I have done the rear window TSB foam fix but even then I noticed wind noise primarily from the sunroof and the rear doors. What I did notice is that the maxima only has one main door seal around the doors and maybe that is what is causing the noises.
I basically compare my max to my 3 series that is so much more quiet than the nissan. Basically the wind noise I hear in the max at 80 is the wind noise I hear in the bmw only after ~125
Anyone has wind noise reducing ideas??? I wonder if I can get rubber weather seal and basically create a second seal around the doors.

Thanks.
