Maintenance Question

I'm planning on replacing my spark plugs and flushing all my fluids this weekend. I got the car w/86,000 miles on it, and its at 106,000 now. It's been trouble free, but its looking like its time to do some of this stuff. It never had a 90K service or anything like that. Anything else that I should replace while I'm at it? Thanks in advance.

Mine was right at your mileage when I got it. I replaced the following: spark plugs, air filter, in-cabin-microfilter, engine coolant temp sensor, PCV valve, coolant, and oil.

all of the above....buuuuuuut if i was you i'd do a transmission flush (automatic) or a gear oil change (manual) and a fuel injection service (full service, not the stuff you just put in the gas tank).

pcv valve, plugs, transmission flush on every 30k, driving belts if they are cracked, ait filter if its dirty replace it, in cabin filter if its dirty you can clean it. throttle body cleaning, coolant flush and fill. you dont need to do brake or streeting flush for another 30 to 50k. thats just waste of money. and also check the battery it looks dirty or leaking acid then replace it.

And if your rack start to leak take it to OC guy for free replacement - LOL

All fluids break down over time, flush all the fuids including PS and brake fluid. I picked up an 03 SE with 63K and the PS fluid smelled burnt and looked liek dirty brake fluid. This is an easy DIY.

As far as the brake fluid goes, moisture gets in there as well and starts to contaminate the system. Ask your dealer the price of the ABS pump and you will know the cost of repair there.

when doing spark plugs, be sure to have WITH YOU one of those extendable magnetic tools. You WILL drop at least one of the bolts holding the rear coils on, and you WILL need the magnetic thing to get it back.

That, or have some spare bolts.
