Help Front Strut Tower Brace install

I just installed a Front Tower Brace on my 2002 Maxima. However Ive noticed that part of the bar is touching a part of the black air box system and another part of the bar is touching the intake manifold collector. Is this ok, and if not how can I fix it? Thanks

Bump,I can feel the difference with the stiffness of the car. However because of the tocuhing I get alot of feedback from the engine. Acceleration sounds dry, almost like an eghust system.

I took them off, too much hassel. Thats what you get when you buy things on ebay. I think somthing like a stillen comes pre bent with enough room to clear all engine parts. There was too much stress being put on those parts. Ill have to buy another set. I tried to save money and ill end up spending way more than i planned to.

Just go to a hardware store and get 2-3 washers per bolt to raise it up a little. The IM touching is common on 5.5gens. If you are indeed going to upgrade, I suggest the Cattman titanium bar.

The Cattman Titanium bar was also what I was looking for...but they are rare since they're not made anymore.

If you can find the Otto Racing FSTB locally / in the 5th Gen For Sale forum it's the cheaper alternative than the Stillen with same style.

I brought mine from something otto on ebay. Ive been needing a base ball bat to carry around when I drive, so it will do just fine.

Update, I went to Home Depot brought some washers and messed around with the bar lenght a little. The best I could do was get it off the metal intake manifold, but theirs still mine pressure on the black air box. Also only two of the three bolts could be screwed, will that cause a problem? The two outter bolt were able to be swrewed somewhat down. There is not more feedback when I accelerate and I hear no more noises. The bar looks great!!!

I've had the same ebay FSTB on my car for over 3 years with using the washer method. You will be fine going this route, and the slight rubbing on the airbox plastic should also not cause any real issues.

Welcome to better handling. Now get a RSB.

The only cattman Ti bars that B. Catts has is for the early models. 89-94 I believe. It is on the current group deal.
Yeah I wanted one too, but just waited too long.

The top pic is the small rubbing problem
This is how it was without the washers
The engine was being pushed down by the bar. I thought it was going to fall out of the bay.lol

Now the problem is fixed, but like I said only two screws on each side have been able to be attached to the bar. Ill post more pics tommorw hopefully.
