Monroe Sensa-trac Shocks

Max'ers:

The typical brands (Tokico, Koni, KYB) are very expensive. Has anyone used a lesser cost brand such as Monroe Sensa-trac shocks?

For a 2k2 or 2k3, the front struts are #71461 (right) and #71462 (left).

The backs are #71327.

They sell strut bearing plates for all 4 shocks?

Are they any good?

Do you need to buy new bearing plates when you buy Monroe shocks?

Did you buy new strut bearing plates for your shocks? Mine are starting to wear out.

thanks

Vic

i had them on rear since 2 years without any problem. they still serving me the best. and i dont think my mechanic replaced bearing plates or anything. so are you planning to keep the OEM springs with monroes or going for aftermarket springs?

I had them on my 4th gen and liked them a lot. They were comparable to the SE springs and handled very well. Mind you, they weren't performance springs though, but they handled my spirited driving extremely well.

What the hell are you talking about? What does that have to do with the original question?

I will stay with the OEM springs but just wanted to know if folks replace bearing plates as part of the installation.

The labor is basically the same and you hate to replace them separately later.

thanks
