2003 Driver's seat question . . . ?

Has anyone had a problem with your driver's seat going back and forth? I can adjust the seat and backrest, but the whole seat is stuck in its place. Any ideas if the motor is shot? Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Is the seat stuck all the way back or all the way toward the front of the seat rails or somewhere in the middle? I've had a coin stuck in the seat rails before which did not allow the seat to move at all.

Can you hear the motor trying to move or is there dead silence when you try the switch? If silence, check power to the seat. If power, check for power after the switch to try to pinpoint the problem area.

if you hear the motors moving your wiring switch are ok. If they move only on one side it's a motor/rail combo. There is a TSB on our seats. Preety common that they actually have a repair kit. Go to any dealer and ask the parts counter. They should know. I have the TSB at work though...
And yes sometimes something stuck in it could cause it not to move. So look underneath and see the rails. If nothing there like metal/cloth etc that puirchase that repair kit.

My seat is stuck all the way back and when i press the forward button i hear nothing except a relay clicking on and then no motor, but the functionality comes and goes (more not working than working though). I feel liek it may be the switch or something but its hard to get the seat out becasue the rear left bolt can only be accessed when the seat is all the way forward, any suggestions? Also, where can i get the switch from?

There is a TSB that deals with this problem: TSB # 02001

If and when you try to get your seats out to replace the motor with the updated kit and you cant get your seat to move you can smack the motor with a small hammer and it will usually start to move. Its a pain to get the seat out when it wont move

The dealer will sell you one.
Make sure to disconnect battery for a few minutes before unplagging the YELLOW harness underneath the seat. Yellow harness means airbag and it will blow up if you unplag haha. BE careful guys everytime with yellow wires. Always SRS airbags
