aftermarket headlight question

I have been looking to replace mine, the stock ones have turned to that nasty yellow look (on the lens) and i have been trying to find some to replace it, of course fleabay has some, i have found some on SportCompactOnly.com for about 350, i dont want stock replacements, anyone have suggestions of where to get them from and about how much they'd run??

thnx,

Zack

You could always try to clean them yourself. Granted this write-up is for the 2002-03 headlights, but may work just as well for yours.

I lurked and lurked and found someone selling aftermarket AE headlights. $60 bucks for the pair. Fitment on one side was an issue., but its nothing noticeable from 10 feet away.

Or you could just do the AE mod to your headlights.

or.................you could do a 02/03 stock HID s/u from Performance_Depot. They are vastly superior to our crappy 00/01 headlights.

i really don't fell like cleaning them, they don't match the car anyways they need to be darker if ya know what i mean, i had found a set on ebay, they were black halo projectors (even though i have no idea what the hell halo means lol) that looked pretty sweet

retrofitting(most fun)
o2/03 hids(most common)(flat blacked out, dde cleared hid high'ed ftw!)
clean/ae yours(cheapest)
ebay projo(poor output and ugly imo)
00/01s in the for sale section all the time(helps others trying to sell)

Think of it as a project and not maintenance. That way you will learn something new and the end result will be some kick a$$ headlights.

Anyone tried these? They are aftermarket but the rep told me they were as close as OEM as you can get.

Any1 know how to remove the headlamp assembly on an '02. I can not figure out how to get the stud in the fender to release. I looks like it has a screw wedge (sry for the lame description) to hold it in place. I am too afraid to just pull it through.

pull it out but be gentle with it and be careful not to scuff up the fender when taking it completely out.

I'm about to install HID lights on my 00 Max and I was considering buying a HID conversion kit. Are any of those kits on ebay any good? Or is it better to use OEM equipment? Does anybody have a recommendation?

Thanks in advance!
