Does anyone know what this part is?

Yo Guys,

I just got back from getting an oil change, and when I brought the car in I noticed this week this little strap hanging underneath the car. (You prob wouuld never notice unless you looked). Turns out its a "Cat Converter Ground Strap". Has anyone ever heard of this? Bc according to them it needs to be replaced, bc it grounds the cat. To be honest I would never think this is true, but wanted some feedback on what you guys thought. The part was like $7.00, but they wanna charge me $50.00 for labor. Something about they have to tact/Tack (spelling) it on. Smells like BS to me.

Part # 28360-2Y000 Wire-Bondi

Figured someone would know. All feedback appreciated. Thanks Guys

Could you post a pic?? I swear I have this thing hanging from the bottom of my car too. I think its the same thing. I asked my repair guy and they said it was nothing. Do we really have to repair it?

Pull it off and keep it off... Happens to every max on the road and it is not going to hurt anything.

I'm tempted to pull it off when I saw it but decided not too because its not effecting anything anyway. Car still drives the same way.

Its dark out now, but Ill take a pic tomorrow.

I couldnt get under the car to take it off, is it screwed on? tacted? etc....I mean I know they love charging you for everything. I tried to rip it off by just reaching underneath, but it wouldnt budge.

Yeah I know...I couldn't see all the way underneath it to see what was holding it on. I left it on and its dragging on the floor. I guess it really is grounding it.

"it fell off"
nobody has EVER reported a problem once it was removed. its only connected to the heat shield.

When I replaced my exhaust system and recently upgraded to cattman catback, I saw it, and said this is attempting to ground something, but honestly, it seems more of a precaution. Such as a heat shield, if one breaks or rusts off you can't replace them through manufacture. I put some gasoline on mine and light it on fire along with destroying my stock exhaust.

There was a thread about this a few months ago. Everyone has that. Just let it hang or eat it.
