1. how does exhaust pipe length affect sound...is longer louder...or shorter louder?
2. and for question 1...whichever is louder....is it a general louder or a high pitch louder?
3. how does diameter of pipe affect sound...wider is louder..but what kind of louder....general louder or high pitch louder?
4. what is best set up for a deep low rumble at idle...and a nice deep growl while revving?

those are my questions...i plan to get cattman ypipe...but not sure if 2.5 inch or 3inch because i dont know how the sound will be affected. and whichever ypipe i pick i will get custom piping for the rest of exhaust to match the diameter....and im leaning towards a APEXi N1 universal muffler....ive heard the sound on the apex on an acura legend...and i thought it might be similar to our maxes...its also a lot cheaper than HKS or Stillen...but im not sure how the piping will affect the sound...any help would greatly be appreciated....thanks

The Cattman Y pipe will give your car a nice deep exhaust tone. It won't make it loud or annoying, but just deepen it and give you a growl. If you are not going to SC your car or get NOS, then stick with a 2.5" pipe. Adding a b-pipe will also increase the noise, though I comment personally on that. If you get a different muffler though, it will be quite loud with the y-pipe.
