90 k tune up
#4
I just did a 90K. The service "menus" from two dealers in my area were slightly different, but both were quite pricey and included a long list of inspections. They also include many things I'd imagine most here do ourselves (wipers, oil & filter, air filter, etc.) or have others do (tire rotation, balance, alignment)
I talked to Dave B and ordered parts he suggested, then had a general mechanic I use do the stuff I didn't want to mess with.
FWIW - along with the standard general maintenance items like oil, air filter, coolant, etc. I went ahead with new plugs, PCV valve, replaced fuel filter and serviced the auto transmission (dropped pan, cleaned screen and magnets).

What a Stealer says they do and what they actually do is debatable. I have learned the hard way to never, ever trust dealer service. I have a checklist mailed to me by the service tech that has a list of what was done at 90k, but I know for a fact that all of it wasn't done. Even the assistant service manager said so.
If you want, I can sent you a scan of the checklist if you PM me.

Bring it to a garage or shop you can trust and have him change filters, fluids, ect. Change the plugs if they havent already been changed and just have him take a look at everything (ie. brakes, exhaust). Just make sure that the car is in proper running order pretty much. Most of the stuff should have been taken care of at the 60K mile interval.
