For those of you who are clean freaks and have a sunroof, how do you clean the top of the shade? I have tried tilting it upward to get to it, but still too small for a vacuum. Is there any way to get the shade out??

Had the idea but haven't got around doing it:

Use those CANNED/COMPRESSED AIR that you use for cleaning computers.

What if you took a can of compressed air, like the kind for computers and shot it in there, with a vaccum waiting on the other end to suck all the junk out?

I've pondered this many a times myself. I hate that damn pollen that gets in there and colors my shade. I think the tilt is the only way.

Or what if you bent a hangar to a 90 degree angle and wrapped a big piece of masking tape at the end. Don't use the tilt feature, but slide the shade back just a little bit and stick the hangar in and slide it around.

take it out.. if there is a way ofputting it in, there's gotta be a way for it to come out.. but i say tilt it, and use the flat vaccum adapter peice to save trouble, it should fit.

i say open the sunroof a little bit(open it not tilt it, like halfway) then you can slide the shade as far up as you can and then you 'll have some access to it, maybe with the flat vaccuum piece like someone mentioned. i don't know, i'm just trying to visualize this in my head right now. i'll go take a look later.

As far as i can remember, once you open the roof at all, the shade will not slide past it...ie-the shade will never cover the open part of the roof...unless ya broke it

well...

you could use one of those long computer accessory attachments for your vac. They are available at home depot.

the sunroof is held on by 4 very accessible bolts. I would imagine its a 5 min job. However, given the problems many have had with the switch (auto close), alignment might be a problem. It looks pretty easy... but you could very easy mess up some VERY expensive glass. hmmmm...

I would try the vac attachment first.

yeah, i know you can't slide it forward once the roof is opened.. i thought there would have been a big enough opening by opeing it halfway and then trying...........

but i don't clean it anyway, it's pointless to me....what's the difference if it's clean or dirty?? i can't see it. that's just my opinion.
