Clear taillights on a 5th gen

I just ordered the clear corners for the front and back for my new 5.5 gen. I came across from fully clear taillights. I was wondering if anyone had these and how you guys would think they would look? Heres a link to the auction I saw.

Its your car so get them if you like the way they look. I can tell you now that many people will say that they are either ugly or illegal or both and they will tell you to get the SE lights instead.

do people really think that certain questions have NEVER been asked on here before?
1. they are ugly (mentioned in about 20 threads)
2. they are illegal (mentioned in about 20 threads)

opinion threads are pointless...doesnt add anything and people just get upset when people say something is ugly. its your car, get what you want. you dont need our permission.

I would spray the brake housing with the special red paint, so it would glow red. Thats just me. I'll probably get flamed for it, but that is my plan for my tails when I get to them.

when it comes to tails, headlights or any exterior looks dont ask here for comments or feedbacks cause these people will always come up with negative thoughts. you should know that clear tails are illegal cause theres no red reflectors that can reflects in dark. but if you dont mind being pulled over and can afford to pay the fine then do what makes you happy. but make sure not to sell or give away your stock tails because you might need then after few weeks or days.

I love mine but then again my car is black... I haven't had any problems with the law on mine. I pulled up to a cop the other day, he looked at my tails but the only thing he said anything about was the hyper white bulbs in the side markers. As long as you have Red Bulbs in your clear lenses, you shouldn't have any problems
Hate if you want but I love the way they look on mine

I'm going to have to agree with sooner, and say they do have to reflect red and glow red. Technically clear sidemarkers are illegal as well, but I haven't had any run ins.

Not trying to be an @$$, but if it's illegal than it's still illegal. I recently found out clear license plate covers are illegal in Knoxville, and still have my on. Honestly, you should call your local cops to find out the legality, as in TN you must have a red reflector.

On another note, black on black looks damn nice!

no need to contact a local cop...lighting laws are FEDERAL and governed by DOT and NHTSA

Thanks... mine tails are stamped with DOT.

and another thing that I thought of today, The STOCK OEM tails on the Lexus are clear lenses with red bulbs. They don't reflect red, just light up red.

anybody can put DOT on a tailight. YOUR TAILIGHTS ARE NOT DOT APPROVED. they are illegal...stop arguing, you wont win.
and you are the 100th person to bring up the lexus argument...did you miss the big @ss red reflector on the bumper? your car doesnt have that...its part of the OEM tails
