CEL and no code? what gives?

My check engine light goes on and I hook up an OBDII code reader and get no codes...I reset everything and it still goes on. What I have noticed is that it'll go on when I accelerate. So i get the light but no codes...anyone have any ideas what the problem might be?

Have u tried it with any other OBDII readers? or maybe the gas pedal method? It might just be your code reader.

Go to Autozone and see if they can pull a code. If so, there's something wrong with your reader. If not,

There doesn't seem to be a p0031 code I can find. Are you sure it's not a p0131 error? If so, that would be a front o2 sensor problem and I would go with an OEM part, not aftermarket like Bosch.

To my knowledge and after a quick Google, there aren't any codes lower than p0100.

I could not find any reference to an IVT Control Bank Sensor in my 2000 FSM nor any error codes below p0100. Does 5.5 gen have variable valve timing? Then that could be it.

The following is the first page of error codes in numerical order from my FSM:
