Bose Subwoofer Cut out Problem

Hi Guys,

Just looking to see if the Bose subwoofer cut out problem was on the 2K's and 2K1's or throughout the 5th and 5.5 gens.

I had the same problem. It was a bad connection on the sub itself. Once that was fixed I never had another problem.

I have a 2k with the cutting out problem.. Every once in a while, I just move around the wiring harness near the speaker and it comes back.. I think it's the connector. One of these days I'll take a look at it.

On a side note, my bose cd player scratches CDs.. Anyone else have that problem? Maybe I'll start a thread because I couldn't find anything on this forum.

2 Kicker Comp CVR12's in a ported box and a SPL 1600watt amp... I could care less about my stock Bose sub.

Mine does that every now and then, just turn the volume up loud and they come right back on and you can turn the volume back down and be good.

The whole Bose system is JUNK!! i have a 2002 SE.
The left side speakers cut out, the CD player is stubborn when playing majority of CD's regardless if they are new, old, burned, originals, etc.

I have experienced both skipping and the drivers side speaker cut-out.

Can't wait to get that f'in head unit replaced with something better.

I'm only having problems with the sub. If I tap the plastic cover, it will start workking again.

I took it apart; all connectors were on tight, so that isn't the issue.

I'm going to be doing a complete audio upgrade, so I'll live with it until then.

I have the same problem. Pisses me off bigtime. The whole unit is junk.
Anyone know if there is a stock AMP in the 02 Max?
Thanks!

This is a good link! I thought the sub was just blown and makin horrible noises... but it still kinda hits. I guess ill have to get in their and investigate to see if this is the real rattleing problem.

Any idea on why the CD's dont wanna play usually though? I dont mean the L speaker cut-out either.. i mean it just doesnt wanna play CD's.

thanks
