How to remove the freon in the A/C line ?

Hey guys, as some of you may know I'm rebuilding my engine and installing a S/C, so to make a short story I need to cut & reroute the A/C pipping in order to install the Blower. How can I safely dispose the freon in the line ? There is an adaptor to fill it, there must be a tool with a tank to empty it, anyway does anyone have a clue of what I'm talking about.

Thanks

AA

As stated above you need a recovery machine to safely remove the refrigerant from your system. If you are not familiar with AC refrigerant you should take it to a pro to have it removed and replaced.

When the car is in pieces it's very hard to bring it any where but never mind I find a mechanic friend who has the equipement to remove the freon safely.

Thanks anyway.

Didn't realize that you already had it torn apart. Yes, you can find someone that can bring their machine to the car instead.

haha just go to the shop before next time you start working on your car to doo the evac of the A/c system and then drive home and do whatever you want. It won't screw up anything then when you have your S/c on then go back to any or that shop and then do a recharge. Can't do anything by yourself without the machine.

It's R-134, not freon (R12), so it's a little better for the environment. The responsible way would be to call around a few mechanics and see if someone would come evac the lines for you (hey they are getting a free supply!). The irresponsible, spotted owl killing way would be to vent the lines without anyone noticing. Just wear gloves and a mask, it'll be empty in a minute...but I didn't say that

That's why I said "I didn't say that" hehe. Nor have I done that before to have known to wear gloves and a mask....

Think about the spotted owls though

I spoke to a shop today that is going to come and remove the Green stuff.

I could just have shut up and remove R-134 and not say a word about it, so dont get me wrong, if I dont know something I ask for and if I dont get answer then I ask somewhere else until I find and trust me I always find.

Have a good night every one.
