Transmission breather hose?

I had a local junkyard sell and install a transmission for me. Only reason I went that route is because they gave me a good price and warranty.

I've decided to inspect there work and found a few issues with the vehicle. Most i've already fixed.

1.) air induction housing clamp loose.
2.)They let my exhaust hang down and cracked it. (They are replacing it for free I hope, I'll find out when I call them tomorrow.)
3.) I found a hose coming from the transmission. I removed the air induction housing and found the hose plugged into a nipple on the top of the transmission right next to the starter. I'm assuming it's some sort of breather or overfill tube in case somebody over fills the transmission. Just wanting to make sure it's not suppossed to go to a vacuum line somewhere.
