maxima lights

Can anyone explain why I have to change my bulbs almost as much as I change my oil? 2 taillights, two headlights and 1 marker light in the last 15K miles...any thoughts, I do have a grounding kit but thats it...

Well how many miles do you have? Have you changed these bulbs before? If not, just see it as regular maintenence. If it happens again pretty soon, you either got cheap bulbs or there could be a short.

bulbs burn out all the time. It's normal. Cheap ones go more often .marker lights and fog lights are most common. Mind you the bulbs you have described run on different circuits so it's almost impossible to have shorts on a few circuits at once.
New 04+ max blew Daytime running lights every oil change lol. Nissan had no clue as to why then they came out with long life bulbs. Problem solved.

I'm not a mechanic, but guess you have a problem with the alternator...

I doubt its the alternator because if it were, more things would short out than just a headlight, and side marker...

sounds like a wire short or some kind of an electrical issue, what i'm thinkin is the bulbs are getting too much power or there is a short and the bulbs are blowin instead of the fuse , if you got one of those multimeters check weather the bulb contacts + & - are connected with that light on also double check the fuse to see weather there the correct amps

unless...

did you touch the bulbs? the oil from your hands will cause the halogen bulbs to crack. not sure about the taillight or marker light.

buy better lights and NEVER touch the bulb wish bare hands or anything with even a slight hint of oil. also, do you have and aftermarket suspenion that is very stiff? if you do and drive on rough pavement, that might decrease the life of the bulbs. Don't see how this can be an alternator issue since these light circuits are protected by a fuse, unless the you fuse you have is above the rated current for the specific circuit. Make sure all your fuses are rated what the back of the fuse cover says. GL

Never touched the bulbs, they are sylvania ultra white, the rest are stock replacements, just found it weird that they go so often, I have 97K on the car but its maintained frequently, i will try some different bulbs, thanks for the input everyone.

I always clean new bulbs with Denatured Alcohol before I install them, just to clean off anything that could have gotten on them and my GT-X headlights are now two years old and still work perfectly.
