Its Official... My Max Is Totalled

Sunday feb, 25th. driving home in the snow and ice, i was doing probably not even 40mph, when i felt my back start to fishtail, before i knew it i was face to face with the center median. IM OK, my car is not, i walked away without a scratch on me. just pissed off.

got the call from, the ins adjuster, said the parts for the car was about 9000, and they capped the repair off at 11000. needless to say the damages doesnt look that bad in the pic, but the all the crumble zones were collapsed, and the frame rails were bent. im about to goto to shop and gut my baby, take all my stereo eq out.

R.I.P. you will be missed

Man, that hurts. I am so sorry about your car. I am glad that you walked away. She did her job protecting you.

Let us know where you decide to go from here.

Dibs on your interior?

Well, if they cap the repairs off at 11k, then they are probably planning on offering $13,750 as a payment to you. They total car's that cost 80% or more of the value to repair. Was it worth $13,750?

Ouch, I feel your pain...as you said, the damage doesn't look too bad. I'd be willing to bet that if you took the insurance money, and found a local body man, you could fix the car for considerably less than the insurance company said it will take.

I guarantee that scenario cold be played out if you lived closer to me. I've got a couple of friends who work at body shops.

Thats too bad, man. I'm glad you're ok though. It really doesn't look like a total, but I'm sure it looks different in person.

looks like the impact was low and pushed everything up. the covers arent broken because they didnt take a direct impact but the top brackets seem broken.

Sorry to hear of your loss. It sucks when you have no control over your car and something like this happens. At least you have collision coverage. What are you thinking of now?
