Are these music CDs you buy or are these burned music CDs using CD-R or CD-RW discs?

Actually, it happens to both (the CDs that I buy and the burned ones) but it happens alot more on the ones that I buy. Any idea why?

Hmmm, if it was just with your burned discs, I'd say it was the brand of disc you were using. On my non-Bose system (I believe it's made by Clarion), it has no problems with store-bought music CDs, but it doesn't like certain CD-R and CD-RW discs. The thing is not to use super-cheap CD-R discs (the sub-$15.00-for-50-discs spindle from Hotan caused endless occasions of music skipping) and CD-RW discs (the system wouldn't even recognize music CDs burned onto GQ brand). I hear the Bose player (from Panasonic) handles CD-R and CD-RW discs better.

But if you're having more of a problem with store-bought 'pressed' discs, then there may be a problem with the player itself. The laser head might be out of alignment. Check with your local Nissan service department. I hope you still have warranty coverage on this if it is an issue with the player.

Good luck.

Actually mine hasn't skipped yet, even across potholes. And I drive like a maniac. Neither CDs or CD-Rs (haven't used CD-RWs yet).

Has anyone niticed some (for lack of a better word) chirping, like the CD is barely keeping up. It sounds like a steady beat that does not go along with the music.

I notice it particularly heavy on the Beatles 1 album, but have heard it on a bunch of other CDs.

I had a skipping problem even when my car was not moving. Nissan replaced the head unit under warranty.
