Japanies or American are Maximas made in Japan or America. I went to a local dealership and they told me that they are made in Japan and shipped to America.
But I figured since Maximas are reasonable priced compare to Hondas and Toyotas they must be made domestically also.

when you check out the VIN, make sure it has a "J" in the front. that will indicate that it was made in japan.

... and it's japanESE, not japanies....

I love the spelling mistakes on this board. That
"Keving" one a few weeks back was the best.

The art of basic proofreading has apparently gone
the way of the dinosaur. Dead English teachers
everywhere are spinning in their graves!

All the 5th. generation Maximas if I'm not mistaken are made in Japan in a town called Oppama which is right outside of Yokohama near Tokyo. I used to live in Oppama for about five years and I would go down to the Nissan factory and go to this park that was above the factory and watch as they put there cars to the test on there test track. Pretty wild to watch what they do these cars before they put them out on the streets. But if you look in the engine compartment against the firewall, there is a tag that is all written in Japanese. Also, look in the user manual and it will tell you where the car is made.
