New Brakes question. Help a noob
Had my 2000 SE brakes replaced today. Guess previous owner hadn't changed in a long time.
No more brake judder!!! Man, I thought the front wheels were all warped. Dear god, it felt like the steering column would snap in half anytime I did moderate-heavy braking.
The only thing I wish I was there for, is to ask about the brake peddle 'travel.' I need to press my foot into the pedal a bit too much, even with the new brakes. Same as before Can this be adjusted, so I don't have to depress the pedal so much? Add 'more pressure' to the brake pedal, so there is more resistance on my foot?

not really, but with better pads you will get two advantages:
1. quicker "bite" when you press the pedal
2. no pad material transfer (which makes the rotors feel warped)
If you're using OEM pads or discount OEM replacement pads.....get rid of that junk and buy some good-quality street performance pads - Hawk HPS are the most popular around here....

You might have a problem with your master cylinder. My mom's quest had a bad master cylinder and the pedal was extremely mushy but as soon as we replaced it, the pedal became more firm and didn't travel as far before that initial bite. Hopefully that's not your problem but I would get it checked out.
