3.0 Removal
3.0 Removal
Yes, I have searched and searched. There are plenty of post about swaps, but I just want to know what is the best way to remove a 3.0 out of a 2001 Max 5-Speed without having to drop it and lift the car over it.
I have pulled motors out of older FWD cars that came up and out. And I have pulled dozens of RWD. So I have experience, just not on this new of a FWD vehicle with the "engine cradles" that are meant to be removed by lowering the drivetrain.
I've pulled the shafts, unbolted just about everything, just that there seems to be a lack of room around the distribution block for the brakes in order to lift this up in one piece. Unless I can leave the tranny in the car? (Just dont see how that'll be possible...no room to slide the engine off of the shaft)
Thanks in Advance!!

I am not saying it won't come out. I am just simply asking that if anyone has been thru the procedure, any suggestions on how to remove it off of the trans shaft, what do I HAVE to unhook (CV shafts, etc.) what can I leave in (trans, etc.)
This is a 5-speed.
Thanks for the photo though
