What is the lifespan of OEM brakes???

A couple questions.
1. Is $235 plus fluid too much to have a shop put on my supplied rotors/pads and replace the fluid? $60 labor for the fluid change and $170 for install brakes on all 4 wheels. I supply the parts - plus the brake fluid. Also, should I bother w/ synthetic???
2. Since I am planning on using Brembo blanks & Hawk street pads, would it be a bad idea to have all this done at one time or not? I mean, they'd likely road test the car after changing fluid and since that would involving stopping would it be bad for the new pads prior to bed-in? Or is that not an issue since it may not be excessive braking at one time like the bed-in process subjects the pads to heat.
On the other hand, I think I gotta get the fluid changed b4 pads atleast since the old stuff will be less heat tolerant and will be subjected to lots of it during bed-in process.
Just trying to figure the best planning and whether I should have them do the fluid and then I do the brakes. I could do them but not experienced at this pt and really not sure if it's worth it to mess w/ 'em myself.

despite me being biased because i work for autozone, you really cant go wrong with a lifetime warrantied brake pad set.. you wear em out, you get a new set. buy a good set of pads with the lifetime warranty and you won't hate doing a brake job the second and third time. our rotors are also warrantied for two years, but for the maxima are expensive as hell. There's a company out there from japan called Gren which sells rotors which are the same quality as Rabestos IMO and cost about 15 bucks a piece for fronts. pick them up. If you live in NJ, Thul's Auto Supply sells them. I used to work there too. I need a new job
