Stain Glass Paint ~~~Night Pic's up~~~

I found that craft stores are now selling stain gless paint in a spray can, It comes in yellow, blue and red. It looks alot better then useing the model or Krylon Acrylic paint, its crystal clear and fills in/hides all the imperfectoins in the plastic. I dont know if you guys already new about this but I thought I would mention it.

Here are some pics of my fog lights that I did with the yellow paint, and they light up bright yellow.

~~~Night pictures~~~
Sorry the pics are not the best I took them with my cell phone.
the hood, eyelids, bumper, etc are not my taste. there is way to much going on. lines going in every direction. they mess up the smooth lines of the car.
fog lights look good though
Thanks sooner and I know you where, I know your style LOL. Im want to make a statement with the car but I hate the huge body kits. I had a classic lip on it but it didn't go with the hood, and once I get the rest of the lip kit on its going to look nice.
Hey revs2hard.....How does the "yellow" output compare with hidtech's capsules??? I have yet to do the capsule but had the luminics yellow h3's in for a few months and they were ok.. Also I will be curious to see how the "paint" holds up to the heat of the fog light and temperature changes...Other than that they look good for appearance on the car..What brand is the paint and what store did you get it from?? How many coats did you give the lights....Paul
Would this also work for tinting my side marker lights to match the black of the car? I can't seem to find the right paint for doing that. Other than Nyt shades, which seems to be rather expensive.
It's about the same if not more yellow then the HID Tech capsules. The reason I say its more yellow is because I have a set of Vision X hyper white fog light bulbs behind them and they over power the headlights (that are the same bulbs). I did around 6-9 coats, It was a saturday night and I had some vodka and 2 of the big Rockstars LOL. I also was doing my friends 240 tail lights black so I lost count. The paint will hold up fine, my friend has had it done to his car for about a year now and it still looks great. I found the paint by calling around to local craft stores and asking for yellow stain glass paint in a spray can. When you find it the cap looks orange but its yellow trust me, its also a Krylon product here's the link-http://www.krylon.com/main/product_t...roduct_details
I really like the way it came out. I was thinking of doing it, but I dont know if it legal here in cali..or maybe i should just say, I do know that its illegal and I dont want to get pulled over for it .
.
Should not be a problem. It's a legal color on a civilian vehicle as far as I know. Also, yellow fogs come stock on Lexus as well as others.
Brandon, Thanks for the link to the krylon spray...Do you have any night shots of the finished product??? I am going to look for this stuff this weekend at local craft stores.... Did you get the 6-9 coats applied in one evening?? I am guessing the spray dries fairly quick and you can apply within an hour between coats...Thanks......Paul
I did the 6-9 coats at a three minute intervoles, then let it dry for a hour. After that I installed them, its quick and easy.
Im going to take some pictures tomorrow night, so check back then.
I dont know for sure, my guess would be no. Remember this paint is ment to show up clearly the color you paint it. If you have ever seen a stain glass window you will know what im talking about.
How sturdy are the pillars. Do you recommend them? By this I mean does the quality really show in these pillars? I want a very reliable pair that will last for a while.. ...and I assume that it comes with 3M adhesive tape?
Lastly..did you have to remove your pre-existing vinyl covers on the pillars? Or did you apply the chrome ones right over??
Thanks for all your help!!
I got mine at Michaels, did you ask someone? I looked forever and when I asked it was where I never guessed it would be, but I had walked past it.
