For some reason I can't seem to find that perfect driving position in my 2K Max SE 5 speed. I'm 6 feet tall and I find if I adjust my seat so that the pedals feel right, then the steering wheel and shifter are too far away. I can tilt the seat up to better reach the wheel but then I feel like I'm sitting straight up. If I adjust so that the steering wheel feels good, then my legs are cramped and my right leg is wedged up against the center console.

I know this seems petty but this car is soooooooooo sweet that it's the only thing I could find to bi*** about. :-)

Any other tall Max owners experience this?

I am 6 foot

exactly and find it perfect for me. But then again I am all torso, have stumpy legs and ape arms! So I can lean back, be near the wheel and shift comfy-style!

This is what I have set:

* Seat all the way back.
* tilt seat back as far as it goes using front end of power switch.
* rear end all the way down using back end of switch.
* recline it a bit. Adjust it so that your wrist can hit the top of the steering wheel without stretching too far.

My right leg hits the center console and steering wheel at times, but I can live with it. I am around 6'2".

I'll have to look into having my arms lengthened a bit.

It's a legitimate complaint. I have the same problem with my current car (not a Maxima). It's basically due to the lack of a telescoping steering.

mirror controls

are also hard to reach when the seat is even a little reclined. Wish they would have put this somewhere else like by the window switches.

I have exactly the same problem, but then it seems common for me in cars without telescoping wheels - or maybe I just want to be too reclined!

Same problem here

I'm only 5' 9" but I like to sit back and I can't get comfortable on long trips.

Also, the side mirrors are so far away that you have to lean up to set them, this makes it hard to get them right because you are not in your driving position when you adjust them.

On the good side, I like the adjustable arm rest & the steering wheel feels nice. Also, the steering wheel stereo adjustments are great.

It is not safe to drive in a reclined position. Maximum control of the car requires you to sit upright. I always keep my driver's seatback in the upright position. It helps in keeping your back straight too. Too easy to slouch when the seat is reclined.
The J30 has a better steering wheel position than the I30/Max. When I drive my dad's I30, I notice the "straight-arm" driving position. I guess you have to get a Q to have that power telescoping wheel for perfect adjustment.

Yeah the seat is kinda too comfortable. I adjust my seat all the time to match the kind of driving. If i'm chilling i stay far back and if i'm drag racing it's differs.
