Talked to one of my friends that lives near Stillen and is close with a guy that works there. He said he saw a '02 Maxima with a Supercharger installed! Apparently Nissan gives them new model cars early to get started on mods. I remember when they sold 95-99 Stillen Maximas in our local dealerships. Wonder what that thing is putting out? 350HP?

Wow thanks the update! You should take a ride over there with you digital cam and see what you can find?? As well as talk to the people at stillen as to what existing mods will work and what mods are in the works?

Hmmmmmm.............

Wonder if it's an automatic or the 6-speed? I hope it's an automatic since they said the 6-speed won't be available untill Oct I think, maybe he has a setup that finally works with no additional mods for both transmissions, but knowing stillen it will be the 6-speed, but an auto would be SWEET......PEACE.....

If I would have done it all over again, I would keep my auto.

I need to get rid of the speed limiter, I'm sick of losing to 5 spd Maxs, IS300, BMWs, and such on a all out stretch.
133 is slow, if I could 160 would be serene.

Re: Re: puke on automagic

You drive an auto? Wow I didn't realize? Anyways did the 5pd AE you drove have the same performance mods as your Auto or was it stock? I have no idea what you have on your car ie. y-pipe, intake, cat back...NOS....rsb, fstb .. maybe have a sts (on the 5pd) instead of level 10 or maybe an upgraded clutch? At that point I think it would be a better comparison. I would agree with you that 133 is slow for a Maxima that has mods. If you can lose that speed limiter then wow! Does anyone know the top speed based on final gear ratio of a 5spd and Auto assuming the limiter is off and the power is there?

No puke on automagic

Ya that must suck. A couple of years back I was in a friend's GTI VR6 with chip and K&N and we passed a Boxter who hit his 140mph limiter....it was hillarious.

I think a Y-Pipe and Intake make a significant difference as well. I'm not knocking auto Max's at all and never have..just gotta drop more money in them to make them as fast...and that limiter blows espeically if you drive over 130 on a regular basis. What would the top speed of an auto or 5spd be at redline?

I guess the magical question is would you go for an auto or 5spd if you did it again? If the 2k2 auto is done right that car will be amazing espeically if you can squeeze the SC in there... I buy fwd cars since I live in the coldest capital city in the world and we get tons of snow. Front wheel drive with snow tires is very nice in the winter...so once they go with a rwd max I will be looking at other fwd cars or all wheel.

I just have a complete intake system, and Y-Pipe in addition to the mentioned parts. I hate the fact that my car stops at 133 or 135 give or take. I've been on a flat out 5 mile straight, and the car will not go beyond. My friend in his IS300 taunts me, everyone taunts me. Out of all the cars my friends have, I am probably the "slowest."

Did you see that we're going to have a 2002 6-speed SE at Maxus 2001? Nissan's shipping it all the way from the west coast for us.

Get the Program piggyback from Racer's Group in Cali. It can elim the speed governor and raise the rev limiter and do fuel control.

Only problem is you've got to get the car tuned plus buy the piggyback - and you are in $1000 plus territory. Far as I know, no one's done it on a 5th gen!

That is fast!

Damn 180mph is crazy! How accurate is the stock speedo on the car at that speed? That thing must of been heavily modded fo' sho'. You will like this video (full screen)then:

http://www3.sympatico.ca/phat/911tt205mph.mpeg

I've driven many 911 but none at this speed! Gotta love the 911TT can do 180mph+ off the showroom floor with full warranty (well on the car not your life).

I have gigs of really good street racing/track/top speed videos but this is one of my favs.

Honestly wouldn't know cause I would love to dip into 7000rpm range for my top speed. The fastest car I've been in was a Supra TT Automatic. Passing 180mph approaching 300kmph mark, ran out of room. I'm not gonna say where, but it was done in NYC. I've gotten into so many top speed races, and cutting out at 133 on a flat road looking at my rpms hover around 4500-4700, and looking at the nearly 2000 rpm to go, really gets my blood boiling, and watching a car just pull away from me.
I would love to have a ECU to get the car to rev to 7000rpm, and eliminate speed govenor, and some fuel enrichment @ 3/4 throttle. Couldn't believe my friends IS300 went to 140 no problem, staying pegged @ 143-145mph.
AE i worked on even got to 140 and hovered just slightly above the 140+ mark. The Supra does 180, even my friends hybrid Civic w/ B16A head, B18B block can peg 140 w/o a problem.
S4, I've been stopped at just below 140 before the chip. I have yet to test now that I have the chip.
My Pathfinder...an SUV can hit 120+...scary.
I know of a 400hp S/C Expedition w/ NX 120hp dual stage nitrous who has taken his SUV beyond 130+.

-Slowest one......Y2K Maxima @ mere 133mph
