Replacement Headlamp question

Hi, I need to tap into the org's infinite wisdom. I have condensation building inside my right head light. Apparantly there is a crack in the back that can't be sealed, so I need to look at replacing the whole unit. Im still recovering from the estimate that the stealership gave me, but in the mean time Ive come across the following:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...8829278&rd=1,1

Any have any experiance with this product, or is there a better after market unit that I should be looking at?

Thanks in advance
~Chris

Check the FS section as well. They usually have some good deals.

Has any one else had to replace the front headlight assembly?

I am doing it today for both. Someone stole some internal parts for the headlights from my car. I noticed the other day that my low beam headlights were not working after having the car for over a week (just bought it). The mechanic called around just to replace some small plugs (igniter?) that plugs in right behind the bulb.

He could not find them at his usual parts places. He ended up having to buy 2 new headlight assemblies.

Grand total? $1000.00

Luckily, I am not paying for it.

Can't really tell you anything about those lights, but have you seen the crack yourself? What I mean is, have you tried fixing the crack with say, JB Weld and then maybe spraying it with some rubberized undercoating or instead following it up with RTV to seal it up?

If the crack isn't that serious, and all it's affecting is allowing moisture inside, I'd try to repair it first (at a fraction of the cost) considering the crack is in a place you can't see.

would need to be a huge crack to not be able to fix it i would think. some silicon sealant for a small crack should work. got pics of the crack?

^ You'd probably have to PM someone to get all the instructions you need with proof of purchase. Anybody can post an ebay link. Damn, you got a sweet deal on those! While I'm waiting on the time to do my retro, I just bought some 02/03 for about $315 shipped for the pair. I'm not sure exactly how to wire everything up, and just haven't bothered to ask/search here.

Passenger side light looks stolen, both tabs are cracked.
No instructions for you.

To the OP, that auction does not mention if the lights are OEM. I had to replace one of my lights and purchased a DEPO light and the beam pattern is a bit scattered. It is especially noticeable when you pull right up to a garage door or wall. But for the price difference vs OEM, I think it was worth it. Hope this helps you.
