Car stutters at REAL high speeds??

Ok over the last couple of days Ive been making long trips and mostly taking the interstate. Theres a couple of spots that are known for people going ***** out wide open for a couple of miles. I found myself amognst other cars going 90+ mph with BMW's and Ford trucks passing me going way over 100.

The problem is when your going high speeds like that to pass people u usually need to floor it to get the car up the speed. So I found myself stomping on it several times, but when I was stomping on it the car like was stuttering or like it was running on 5 cylinders. It just doesnt sound right at all. It used to never do this, usually u hit it and VRROOOOOM its out. This time it was a hesitated accel with sorta a weird vroom noise.

SO thinking I broke my car I took the first exit and stopped at a light and lit them up thru 3rd gear and the car was fine no stutter or hesitation or weird lack of power feeling.

Seems like its only doing this after the car is REALLY warmed up.

So today in a panick I changed my oil, transmission fluid, added fuel system cleaner and drained and filled my whole cooling system. ANd it still did the same thing on the interstate tonight.

Could this be the MAF?? Im a mechanic but I know squat about these motors and dont even know where to begin. No check engine lights or anything, just high speed weakness.

And help would be appreciated. Should I get the 2k1 maf and see it if changes anything??

your car is reminding you that you dont need to be racing people at 100mph.

you dont have a problem to fix...besides the mental problem you have which makes you think what you are doing is ok. you need to stop before you kill someone

daggg. Dudes is straight up strict on this!!! But it could very well be early signs of wear coming to your MAF sensor..

BTW, is he really gonna be banned? I mean, he is not solely speaking of racing cars, hes just speaking of how he found out about his problem right? IMO, especially since he is new, he shouldnt be banned...But hey im not a mod...If u get/got banned, lesson learned bro!

For real. I talk about racing in weekend battles. I never violate at all. I didnt talk about racing a celica, I just mentioned that he was toying with me no RACING. I would never race a stock celica its a waste of gas.

My car has a legitmate problem. I dont even really race my car. I commute with it so im on the interstate probably 90% of the time. My speeds STAY above 80Mhp ALL THE TIME. Hence the reason why I got a Maxima, Comfort with horspower combined into one nice package. I dont know what kinds of interstated u guys have on other states but in Florida we all drive FAST. After midnight on some interstates everybody is doing well over 75 and some cruise by at over 90+. My speeds never break 100 ever, thats when speeding tickets turn into countytime.

I have 2 motorcycles that I RACE. A 2007 ZX-6r and a 2004 ZX-10R. THOSE are for late night racing....Wait thats not talking about racing is it????? lol

i dont care how old you are. actually that makes it worse since you should know better.
dont bring up the germany argument. the roads are better...the car are better...and the drivers are better.

you were going 80 (above the speed limit) next to a celica and "stomped it".
ask a cop if thats considered racing.

There's no need to be passing anyone at speeds above 80 mph.

Keep it in the weekend battles section. Next time will get you a week off.
