Drenched In Oil
well yea, i recently changed my plugs and the old ones were literally DRENCHED in oil. I dontknow what it was but somehow my O rings are in neeed of replacement and let oil seep through into the plugs, (only 3 of them). I have the new plugs in and did not yet replace the O rings... Can it wait another week or so til i replace them? Its funny because only 3 of the 6 cylinders had oil in them.. I did not understand this... any help, thanks

lol...its not an oil "consuption" problem...more like a oil leak....which seems to be from bad valve covers.
not from the the motor "consuming it"
just a fwi.
there are a few post about hte oil in hte spark plug holes...

I'm not looking forward to the time I have to replace my spark plugs, as this seems to be the norm for this Gen of Maxima. But from what I've read here it seems to be an easy fix if caught early. If its an oil consumption problem then the engine may need to be changed but in order to get that done under warranty you have to get the dealership to make note of the problem by visiting them on more than 2 or 3 occasions. At least thats what I've come to understand from reading the 4 or 5 different posts on this problem. If your problem is simply an oil leak you can wait until you get the parts, just monitor your oil level in the meantime.

the IM gasket has nothing to do with this problem. the IM connects between the valve covers.

well basically, he figured this out because he was changing my plugs for me, he happened to notice oil all over the plugs, he then said from taking the plugs out the oil seeped thru to the cylinder and when i start my car i will get blue smoke because all the oil has to burn out, didnt really notice that tho.

my plugs looked exactly like that, now i have brand new ones in, i hope my new ones dont end up like my old ones since the oil leak is obviously still a problem.. so do u think I should change the O rings AND valve covers? whats a way to tell which is the problem?
