Greddy Evo Problem Need Help

Hey guys, first I got to say I have not been on this site for a long time. I started Law School and immediately ran out of money to do anything to my car.

If I kept reading up about my car on this site I would have had to open many credit cards .

Anywayz my problem is this. I am driving down the road and all of a sudden my car is about 10 times louder than normal.

I pull over and look under it just to see that my Greddy muffler rusted through at the pipe.

Do you guys know if I need to buy the whole catback exhaust system or can or does Greddy sell just the muffler system?

In case you ask what model this Greddy Exhaust is, I think its the first EVO, I got it about 3-4 years ago.

Thanks for The Help and oh

So it's a regular EVO? not an EVO II stainless?

Most likely you can fix it at a muffler shop, but if you want you can replace it with something stainless like a Cattman catback.

It is an EVO.

My mechanic looked at it and said its DONE .

I want to go cheapest possible but maintain looks. I think I decided to sell my car this summer.

I just don't know if I would have to buy the whole catback system or muffler by itself.

I saw someone selling the whole catback for $300

IMO, the original Greddy Evo wasn't good quality, so even if you fixed it, it'd probably rust and break somewhere else. The problem with the Greddy b-pipe is that it does not match well with other prefabbed rear sections like the Cattman, HKS, or Frankencar (before you ask, Frankencar is out of business). Your options include to get a new custom rear section made to match the Greddy b-pipe, a used stock catback, an Evo II (which are dirt cheap now I think) catback, or a stainless Cattman catback.

Since you say you're selling the car, I'd just find a used stock catback in the 5th Gen Classifieds for cheap and call it a day.

What Year is your Max!

If you have a 2000-2001 you can upgrade to the Evo2 but if you have a 5.5 Gen i recommend cattman. cattman will give you HP but if you were to put the EVO 2 on the 5.5 Gen you wont gain any HP.

But if you wanted to stay away from greddy all together get the cattman.

I am almost 90% sure I want to sell my car.

But what is the rough estimate for the cattman?

Quit making yourself look like an idiot. Cause I had a Greddy EvoII on my car as well as a Frankencar that is on my car now. Both don't make a difference.

By default, it holds no relevance here, and still, The Law States that said claim is still not proven, so, as before, said claims are not backed.

Please step away from any car and all cars as well as computers. You are a safety hazard to yourself and others on the road as well as on the internet as your low IQ makes everybody else drop down to your level.

Ok, that means STOCK MUFFLER. So, no surprise here but again, your statement is still invalid as well as extremely vague.

Vague: You said exhaust in your earlier post, in particular, cat back

the provided link is for a muffler.

I apoligize for my remarks, nobody's perfect. The org is harsh on people, i was just trying to put things in perspective.

To salvage topic: any cat back will give only minimal if any gains.

...yo Law, I swear my car makes a little more power with the EVO II vs Cattman except for the fact that I have a ricer buzz exhaust note.

You have it too? Is it because of the fact that it's a can?

I have it even after it's warmed up.
