Noise comming from the wheels

I just instulled Illuminas w/ eibach and when i turn the wheel all the way to the left I get a screatching noise as if metal rubs against metal. The car does not have to be moving. The noise only comes from the driver side wheel. Again this only heppends when the wheel is turned all the way to the left(THE LAST INCH OF MOVEMENT OF THE WHEEL) Please help.

you rotors maybe warped or you may have installed the springs wrong.

Probably put them in upside down or maybe you put the right spring on the left side and the left spring on the right side! Either way 2 rights don't make a wrong!

JK He means the spring may not be seated correctly on the strut! Good luck!

Re-install spring on the strut! Make sure the starting point of the spring is seated kind of flush on the bottom part of the strut (small dent like looking portion at the bottom of the strut where the spring sits) Good luck!

look at the drivers side hub.

Below the connector for the outer ball joint there is a metal piece that is supposed to have a plastic cover on this. At full turn this metal piece hits the lower control arm.

Check that spot out to see if you have rubbing happening there.

Also, when you rein install the string and front stut make sure the spring is seated inside the perch correctly and the 'out' is in fact pointing out toward you.

As kukx30de said, check your plastic bump stops.

The turning thing stopper thingy that hits the control arm has a plastic cap over it. See if you still have that.

-sooner, upstate, irish you know what i'm blabbering about right?

hmm after re-reading his post... i feel definately rotors and pads for the pulsation when braking... as for the screech/squeal... have you checked the shields behind the rotors? and ofcourse as others have said check your strut install again... too many components touched and chances of mess up when doing struts...

yes, you are correct. The new control angle causes it to rub differently.

as stated by me a couple posts up, when you lower the car, it causes the lower control arm to sit at a different angle relative to the hub/spindle assembly. because of this slightly different angle (it's only 5-10mm), the bumpstop doesn't contact the LCA bump plate flush, and instead hits it at a bit of on the angled surface. This causes the noise.

You can fix it by:
1. make sure the plastic cap isn't worn through...if it is thin, replace it.
2. put some machine grease on the LCA section where it contacts, to eliminate the friction and noise.

done.

now, if it does this noise when the car is not moving AT ALL:

1. It could still be the bump stop
or
2. the upper spring perch is not aligned correctly outward
or
3. the end of the spring on the lower seat (the strut) is hitting metal-on-metal. The spring isolator should be made to overlap the end of the spring itself by an inch or so (as an insulator).

/thread.

Ayo depending on what kind of screech your hearing, it could simply be your power steering belt going bad.....That is, IF, none of the stuff mentioned above doesnt turn out to be the problem which i think it will. Just adding to the laundry list of possible sources
