is 2700 alot for paint, and some minor bodywork and new windshield? this isn't including painting the doors...The body shop quoted me that..just minor pitting on the hood and some body parts

$2300 plus windshield sounds OK. Sure, like anything, you can get it done cheaper. But like anything else, you get what you pay for.
look at their work first, see how well they do it and then if it looks good quality, its a reasonable price. but if youre going for just a whatevers job, just want to get your stuff fixed and painted, then 1500 would be about right.

That seems kinda salty for a paint job unless the place is really respectable and does excellent work, I been looking for a reasonable place to do some touch ups on my baby, on the driver door at the top corner the clear coat is peeling off like dried skin...... Is this a common problem ? I want to repair it before it gets faded or rusty.
I know everyone is gonna down MAACO, but I had my truck painted there in 2002 for $325 and it was a full deal, total cover, and its still looking great.
I dont suggest it unless you are on a budget, that price seems steep.
For that price it best be immaculant.

2700 for a paint job on alittle azz maxima is a ripoff sir. my friend just got his chevy tahoe painted for the same amount and that was for painting the whole truck, and replacing the drivers side door. Also I wouldn't go to maaco if my life depended on it.

Body work isn't cheap. 3000-3500 for a full repaint is about average for a normal good shop. Were talking quality work and a lifetime guarantee on paint usually. It sucks that the price is that much but that's the way it goes. I've got a friend that paints and to get him to paint any of my cars and mostly cost is still 1500-2000 for same color.
Also you can NEVER match the paint that's already on the car. Unless you kept the paint and painted another part a month later. Paint fades (alot and you don't realize it) once it's blended properly you should never notice. I've seen cars where you hold the two pieces side by side and it's no where close (front fender to rear) but once it's blended you'd swear the car was never repainted. Just the way things work all an optical ilusion. Goes for houses to (you really think your walls are straight?)

the price my peeeps paid for his tahoe was from a stealership! also yes the dealer may be able to give you a better price. call around and after a place gives you a price ask them if they will take a few dollars off since you are getting so much done. also atleast at the dealer if its not blended right you can complain till they get it right. joesmo's garage will just brush you off if they screw it up. good luck!
$2700 is on the higher side of average for the work you want done. I'd estimate that job (block hood/front bumper, primer, base hood, quarters, roof, blend doors and clear) would run anywhere from $1900-3000 depending on whose doing the work. Anywhere in that range and you should expect a top notch job - not show car, but high quality nonetheless.
You get quotes for lower than that, and you WILL sacrifice quality. As far as flip's friends truck, just the PAINT/SOLVENTS alone from NAPA (not PPG, or Dupont, etc) to do a complete respray on a Tahoe is going to cost more than $650. Body work is not cheap.

You can get show quality for 2500 - 3000 around my way. Shop around if you are willing to spend that kind of money. Don't settle for the first qoute, you'll end up getting robbed. Not to mention that would be a full body, including jams and under the hood. Shop around for a better qoute!!!
