194 Bulbs for license plate

I want them to look like the new Lexus GS vehicles. Do they use those PIAA 194 bulbs? Any place that sells them cheap??

do the LED 194s draw unwanted attention from police or would i be ok? would these work out in for the front parking lights too?

The super white leds that I have look to me very classy....not ricey whatsoever and are very comparable to the new Lexus. I doubt cops would take a second look at it or if they did it would be too see what kind of higher class car that is that seemingly came with that option

Superbrightleds.com is another good site. The WLED-x6 LED Wedge Base Bulbs look really good in the license plates:

Yeah I wouldn't doubt it. I've ordered from both places and superbrightleds tends to be a bit cheaper. FWIW, the 6 leds bulbs are $3.74 from superbrightleds, $4.99 from autolumination.

That sux - I had 2 of the 194 oval single led's in the license plates for over a year and neither burned out. I switched them out with the 6 led ones from superbright only because I wanted something brighter.

Constant on? Are they on when the lights aren't on? I would check, but I'm at work.

when the headlights (or parking lights) are on, its because its dark...so yes the license plate lights are on.

LED Interior Lighting...

I put white omni-directional LED 194's on my 03 GLE and they very bright and look good too!!!
I got them off ebay from V-leds. They came quick and they are really good about combining shipping costs for multiple orders, and also returns if need be. check the link below...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-HID...5152QQtcZphoto

I have question though...
I am looking for LED bulbs for a few things in my interior, but i am having a hard time locating the model numbers... I have looked up almost every lighting application guide, but still no help. When i call or go to a Nissan dealer, they just give me an internal part number... no help!!!
can anyone else help???

These are the ones i'm looking for...
1) ashtray light
2) glovebox light
3) sunvisor/vanity mirror lights
4) front map lights (not interior dome... got that one already!!!)
5) instrument cluster/dash lights & how many bulbs are back there???

HELP!!!

LED bulbs will draw some more attention. From a distance they have a hint of blue due to the fact that White LEDs are FAR from white. They are actually blue LEDs with a yellow phosphor on them to shine "white" so from a distance a cop could say that you have blue lights, and pull you over, then to discover they are really white.

Happened to me already with my custom made LED license plate lights.

Never thought about it like that. I had a Washington State Patrol behind me last night (escort passport ftw btw) and he just went on and passed me. Maybe he is just lazy or like you said, was close enough to see them as being white and plus they are pretty bright and are not hindering and of the light.....actually they are making them more visible so I wouldn't know why they wouldn't like that

I also think unless you have 6K headlights the LED's are way too blue to use in the front clearance section. I tried PIAA and autolumination with similar results....so I ended up using the OEM 194 bulbs I replaced in my reverse lights up front in the clearance. I hate the way it looks but they are brighter and will keep me out of dodge. I don't think it's worth it personally. BTW I love the way the PIAA bulbs I used in my courtesy step lights and license plate look. (ultra white)

If you can find a way to get to the bulbs you might as well find out what size they are.

I got LED 168SW bulbs for my lic plate when my OEMs burned out. at first I was disappointed by their output, but after seeing them in the dark, I'm much more pleased with them. Not quite lexus, but not ricey either, and puts a nice white sheen on my plate.

Most everyone has seen them, but here's mine....they're not as bright as they in person ( a tad bit more sudtle and since these pix are in pitch black, they look brighter as opposed to while you're driving and there is the usual lights in the city as night, they even out pretty well) and they are whiter in person. I like them a lot
