transmission

Ok I have a 2002 and the tranny slips from 1st to 2nd. I've read as much as the free search would give me but my slipping problem is alittle different then what I've been reading. If I floor it from a stop it will shift fine and if I hit the gas until the rpms hit about 2300-2500 it is fine, but if I make my rpms go anywhere from 2600-4500 it slips. Also my other gears seem fine and shift properly.

So my Questions are?

1.)Is this the TCM problem?

2.)If I drove the car like this would it hurt the tranny any more then if it was working properly? (I'm out of warranty)

3.)Has anyone with similar symptoms fixed this problem with a tranny flush and refill, and/or synthetic fluid?

4.)Say it is the tcm should I get that fixed or just get another tranny?

5.)Could the 6th gen tranny be put on a 5.5 gen?

Thankyou for your time.

Stop flooring it and it will shift correctly.

I don't floor my car I did it to diagnos the problem to see if it would still slip at higher rpms. Also obviously I realize that I shouldn't floor it and even if I did it shouldn't be slipping in any gear. Is there any educated answers out there? thankyou

1.) If it is the TCM, then no you shouldn't replace the transmission.

2.) Unless you have had a recalibration done lately it is probably not the tcm. Flushing your transmission will probably not help. If it is an internal transmission issue it is to late. my guess is that you have an internal trans problem.

I had this issue (slipping 1-2) and got a VB 'mod' and it solved the problem.

^^ did the vb mod completely fix the issue or did it make the first gear change b4 it hit 3000rpms? Also did you get the stage 2? and did it make the others gears feel any different or does it shift rougher. One more thing do you have a tranny cooler and if you do would you think that may atleast help my problem?

I forgot to add that my tranny shifts fine when its first started for the day after sitting for the night, after it warms up (about 15-20mins of driving) is when I get the issue with 1-2 slipping and This car is used with 75k. Also I can keep it from slipping but its hard sometimes when im at a light on the highway and need to get a good sprint from a stop. Thankyou for the replys so far

Although my car is a 2000...I had a issue with it slipping from 2-3. Like you said if I got on it the trans would shift fine. I took it into a shop and it ended up being the torque converter. Hope that helps you out!
