Actually I recently noticed mine doing the same problem. Only when playing radio stations now, my front speakers sound like they're blown. CDs are just fine. It didn't do this a while ago but I haven't been listening to the radio very much so I just noticed it maybe last week.

This is my 3rd BOSE headunit (which is actually made by clarion) but the previous two were from the speakers cutting out on the left side only when playing CDs. I might just take a look at the back of the HU and see if there are any loose wires or something...

Blue wire from radio to blue wire in harness. The blue wire is all you need to check. Make sure there is a good connection.
