here are the pics of what the dealer did to my car
UMD_MaxSE: I want to keep my car. I'm getting 30k mile checkup and extended powertrain warranty for free. And anything else I can think of in the next 3 weeks.
y2KAOSMax: They dropped it off the lift while fixing the rotors, They were going to charge me to do the rotors until they dropped the car.

ask for more stuff....hehehehe....like the 2k2 model 3.5L engine
That's not nearly as bad as I thought it would look... where did it land though? If it first landed on the body the car is probably okay, but it it landed on the wheels at an angle you could have some serious problems, frame or axles bent, etc.
I still can't believe they dropped it!
I mean I could've dropped it myself without professional help. Anyways, I would ask for more as well because so far they're just covering their hide with the extended warranty since they know you'll be back more frequently after they dropped it. What happened to the lawyer?

2001SE: The car is at the bodyshop right now, and for 3 more weeks.
HKmax: I bought the extended bumper to bumper when I bought the car.
mbcp_tdogg: My lawer gave me a choice to keep my car or get a new one. I want to keep my car since I had it painted a non-nissan color and love it.
weasel: It did land on the sides of the wheels. I want a 2k2 so I dont want to go through all the paperwork twice. I told the dealer that I will be getting a 2k2 in feb. from there and I will want blue book for my car.

SORRY
a few questions... dou you have a sunroof? if you do , see if will open and colse without much trouble. have you had it looked at by anybody else? the reason i am asking is from what i saw , the impact points seem to be different areas.. so there might be uni-body damage.. if so , the dealership might cover it up or not fix it properly.. did you look at your rims? are the scuffed or scrathed? if so if they can not be buffed out get new ones.. remember if you try and sell your car resale value will go down. ( thats what you tell the dealership ) if any problems with the dealership get a lawyer.. i am also in agreement of the extended bumper to bumper warranty.. that way if anything happens your covered. and if all else fails..
( in a very physcotic voice ) tell me there names , i will break there knees... i will burn there houses to the ground.. if they disrepect the maxima.. i will tie them up and make the squeal like pigs.. ask them if they have ever had a dealership fire sale.. and when they say no , tell them that unless your happy, they will!!!!

Unless the paint was part of your original deal, I wouldn't expect Nissan to cover it. If it was, then you're entitled to the paint as well.
This is dealer negligence at its worst. Make them pay!
I just have to weigh in here - making them fix everything for free and give you blue book value for your car is letting them off a little light. There should be something more they should do to satisfy you after that debacle.

Since you have the car at the body shop, have them put it on the machine to make sure the frame is still straight, and take the extended warranty in the meantime since you will be trading or selling it for a 2002. If you happen to sell it private you can transfer the warranty and at least the new owner is somewhat covered. And tell the Dealer Manager that you want in writing that they will be giving the Blue Book value of the car if you come in to trade on a 2K2. And see if you can get that 6-speed 2K2 for invoice....PEACE..
Well, thats not as bad as some of the stuff I have seen. Has anyone ever been to a Jiffy Lube, or any other lube shop? You know how they have the work area, and they change the oil from under ground (aka "The Pit")? Well One time, a ladie drove her Ford Taurus right into the pit. It went in sideways, and the top of the car locked with the floor above ground and it just hung there. Nevertheless, you can guess she had a tough job of getting out of the car. Either way, they changed my oil.
WOW....
are the rims bent? and how about the suspension? yea, i agree with the rest of the people, i would have demanded a NEW 2001, or 2002. you must be a really nice person to let them off that easy. i wouldn't be so confident with there work from now on, dropping a car from a lift, what kind of idiots does that dealer have working for them? after i took my car to the dealer for its first oil change, i stopped taking there, when the oil change was done(which took over an HOUR), i get back in my car, i find an empty coke can, some home depot reciepts(???) and there was oil on the steering wheel, shift ****, and on most of the buttons. i know that these guys are working on a bunch of cars, but at least they can wipe the steering wheel and shift **** and NOT throw garbage in my car.

I wouldn't trust what their insurance adjusters think needs to be fixed on your Max!!
A friend of mine had a wreck in her Infiniti J30 several years ago. She turned left in front of another car and was slammed hard in the right side. The car wasn't even a year old at the time. The insurance company adjusters decided that they didn't want to total the car (since it was so new). Luckily, a friend of hers is in the auto body business...and he has a very good reputation. He told the insurance company that the J30 could never be repaired to go down the road in a straight line!! The insurance company reluctantly totaled the J30 and also dropped my friends insurance soon after (what a surprise).
In a nutshell: The dealership's insurance company does not want to total your car. Their is no doubt in my mind there is surely some suspension/unibody damage that may not even be detectable for some time.
You should make them give you a 2k2 Max at invoice---if not less. And give you retail for the damaged Max when you trade. And get it in writing NOW! Even with that, the dealer isn't losing that much if any.

so what was the final verdict? What did they give you in return for doing this to you?
What happened to it????? Or rather what did they say happened to it??
