Rear Tail Light Colors

I'm thinking of swapping my rear amber directional lights for red bulbs or LEDs. Does anybody have this set up, or have an opinion of how it will look on a 00 gxe

Thanks

You mean just bulbs right? You can get those bulb jacket things, the rubber caps to go over a bulb in different colors for cheap at autozone, try that for the red... I think it'd look decent, the LED bulbs are about 20 bucks a piece though so try and find a pic first to see if you like it, I cant really find one with just that bulb in the signals

If you are going to use the rubber caps with the bulb it will work only for a few months. I did use the rubber caps on a different bulb and it came off (maybe I used bad quality rubber caps) or just the bulb is too hot and just melted the rubber.

do you mean the blinkers?
i have 00/01 SE tails on my 02. i have red blinker bulbs (vs the stock amber) to match the brake lights.
the set-up is completely legal since rear blinkers can be amber or red (the front must be amber)

yah im messing with the idea of changing the rear blinkers to red, since all our cars have yellow but then again i notice at night that 90% of the cars out there have red blinkers, so i would blend in so to speak.

Though i did find Verox Xenon Hyper Yellow, which would i think would be pretty sharp looking for the rear.

The rear turn signal bulbs have these two weird bumps on them to secure into the socket. The bulb size specifies 1157R? I looked for replacement bulbs and couldnt find any with the same pattern as this. Rather than be on total opposite sides of the bulb stalk they are about 1/4 of the way around from each other.

Sooner- is there a site for these I can buy them from?

you just have to use wire cutters to cut off one of the metal tabs. it fits after that and doesnt get loose.

you need 1156.

the chrome ones are down towards the bottom.
look for -
European Bulbs

Silver Chrome-- Looks transparent in clear lenses, but lights up in your choice of colors.
